Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City [280412 - 010512]
Overall, the whole trip was quite good~ Ho Chi Minh City is much cleaner and safer than i've imagined, and the people there makes really nice handicraft items! Oh, and no AT invasion~ No pushing, no squeezing, no loud noise pollution. A nice and peaceful place.. It's a new experience :)
Day 1 [280412]
On Vietnam Airlines.. Our flight there was so good! There was practically no one at the back end of the plane and it seemed like it's our own private plane!
Day 2 [290412]
Our daily hotel breakfast.. Love the bacon!
My greatest 'achievement' this trip! Fired a m1 grand, ww2 rifle (according to a friend bcos i know nuts about rifle and bullets! Can't even rem the name of the bullet i randomly chose)~ I went to the counter, pointed at one of the smaller bullets and i was then guided to fire that rifle! Lol.. Great experience =D I think i secretly love playing with guns.. hahhaa!
Had beef noodles at a restaurant after that, I like their soup base for the rice noodles. Ended our guided tour after lunch and we proceeded to Ben Thanh Market. There are so many items sold in the market that I'm quite lost on how to buy the stuffs -.- It's a pity that it's so hard to bring back the pretty handmade items as most are fragile and the rest are useless ornaments.. Lol. And you really need to bargain hard as the prices they give are probably 3 times of what you can get after bargaining.. This is such a chore man. In the end, we only bought a few items.. Haha
Visited the rest of the famous places after getting out of the stuffy market. The post office is one of their landmarks.. Big and full of tourists.. I wonder what's so special about a post office? Lol. In any case, we just went in and took photos hahaha.
Went back to Ben Thanh Market at night as the place will be transformed into a night market along the road sides after the afternoon market closes. Nothing fantastic as the items sold are almost the same as those sold in the afternoon market, just that there are more food available.. The rain made it so difficult to walk around the night market, so we ending up having some food at one of the stalls and bought the colourful sticky rice back to our hotel. I like the sticky rice with sugar and coconut! But it's a pity that we only consume it when it is cold.. Think it would taste better if consumed immediately.
Day 3 [300412]
Tour to My Tho for the day. After our near 2 hours bus ride, the main form of transport around that place is the boat. Viewing their stilt houses and visiting their market on the waters..
After visiting a few more places and their plantation, lunched at this restaurant on the waters as well. It's interesting how they need to consume everything with their vegetables and rice paper. Lol! Even fish meat also need to diy wrap liao den eat. I feel like a rabbit that few days with the amount of raw vegetables they feed us with every meal!! hahah!
Went for their famous water puppet show at night. Had expected it to be more boring, but it ended up quite okay hahaa.. really have to salute these pple behind the scenes as they have to be physically in water to control the puppets.
Took a walk along Saigon River where there are pretty ships made into restaurants for dining. Too bad we planned to have our massage that night, else we could probably enjoy the food there. haha
Day 4 [010512]
Visited the Bitexco Financial Tower sky deck before checking out of our hotel. We can get to the 49th floor of the building and view the country from the top. The view is great~
Had our last lunch in Vietnam in this restaurant, Nha Hang Ngon, which our nice guide introduced. It sells a large variety of traditional vietnam food and the iced coffee is superb!
Home sweet home in the evening~
One more chop on my passport (:
