HK & Macau [020312 - 060312]

So much for expecting very cold weather in hk.. it ended up to be not that cold. Lol.. it was only cold 2 out of the 5 days we were there.. nonetheless, still so much better than sg. haha

It wasn't like this the previous few times when I was in hk.. but this time round, it's so obvious that ATs invaded hk =( Stupid, irritating and barbaric ATs.. ARGH. Can't they just stay in their own country? No one needs them in hk AND sg. Seriously cannot stand their behaviour.. Disgusted!

Other than being disgusted with them, it was a wonderful trip again! I LOVE HK! Hahaa.. And this is the first time i spent every single cent i brought there and even signed my credit card.. It was a mad eat-and-shop trip!

Day 1 [020312]

Dim sum at a random place after we check-in early in the morning; Big buddha

Cable car was closed for maintenance.. So this is the first time I took a bus up instead. And due to the lack of sleep the prev night on the plane, we had a good sleep on the bus! Nothing much changed there (My 3rd time there liao -.-) Even the food tasted the same.. Lol

Hee Kee Crab for dinner; Ferry ride from Central to TST

Met up with tiff for dinner, at her recommended Hee Kee Crabs for 避风塘炒辣蟹. It was GREAT! Although it's expensive, but it's worth it~ After that we went to central and took the ferry back to TST (when she realised i had never taken it before after so many times in hk lol!) and enjoyed the night view of hk.

Day 2 - Macau [030312]

Venetian; City of Dreams; Margaret's Cafe e Nata; Senado Square; Ruins of St Paul; Wynn Casino

Didn't really explored Macau the previous time I was there (SH: I rem the heavy rain which spoiled our day..), so I made careful planning this time round to ensure we covered what we should in 1 day. Was glad that time fitted well in the end and we visited all the places planned!

The Dragon's Treasure show at City of Dreams was good, although it made our necks ache after that.. Lol. Also deliberately went to look for the very famous egg tarts at Margaret's Cafe, it was hot and fresh from the oven, nice! Senado Square was super packed on a sat afternoon.. And the night view at Wynn was superb! We even played the jackpot machine at the casino since we had some time before taking the ferry back.

Finally seen all that I wanted to see in Macau this time round, guess I wouldn't visit Macau for quite some time alr.. Haha..

Ate KFC at night.. (I think i forgot to take pics haha) It was much nicer and cheaper than sg's. They have the 避风塘 chicken.. I think we are addicted to the 避风塘 flavour after the crab! LOL!

Day 3 [040312]

Shopping day! We went for our mad shopping that whole day~ Had the 鸡蛋仔? I don't know what it's called cos I usually wouldn't go for that.. But 我知错了, it tastes really good leh! How come I didn't realise that the past few times i was there?! -.- We bought alot of things that day, and the iphone casings are so cheap in hk!! It was till the end of the day then I found out that we cannot spend like princesses for the last 2 days.. Hahaha

Day 4 [050312]

Ocean Park

My 2nd time to Ocean Park and I was very disappointed. I rem the previous time there were many special exhibits like Ice Age and Dinosaurs.. But this time round there was none! Zzz.. Managed to catch the dolphin show.. And had 2 bumper car rides.. Haha.. Don't know how many years never play bumper car already!

Went to Jordan for the dim sum which I found during the prev visit, just to find that it has changed hands and is no longer selling dim sum. But it was a blessing in disguise~ We found another dim sum shop down the road and they have the amazing 奶黄流沙包! The egg yolk taste in it is soooooo yummy~ Missing it alr......

Day 5 [060312]

Went for our breakfast and last min shopping for food items before leaving hk.. Ate at Tsui Wah Concept in Mong Kok for the first time and their breakfast was good. Portion was very big too. And that's our last xu liu shan in the afternoon.. cannot really be bothered to take pics of xu liu shan items anymore bcos i almost finish trying all the varieties already.. Lol! Only took this pic on the last day but we actually had it every single day there.. Haha!

Bye hk.. Give me 2 to 3 years' time, I'll be back to see you again =)
Just read a friend's blog post and it got me thinking..

Expectations.. Is really a scary thing in a way. It gives you some motivation and direction, but it's also a major source of disappointment.

Since young I have high expectations of myself. To things, it's either i cannot be bothered to do it at all, or i'll give my best in it.

If it's things within my control, i'll definitely work hard to get it. But as you grow up, you will realise there are some things which you can't control.. and that left me empty and lost. No matter how hard you try, you might never be as good as others. No matter how hard you try, other people may get it without much effort while you still get nothing in the end.

I've been keeping myself very busy for the first 2 and a half months of 2012. With birthday and CNY in January, as well as 3 overseas trips (although it's all neighbouring countries, but i still consider them as holidays) in 3 months. Other than that, I'm thankful to have passed my driving test (which is really consuming not only time but also alot of money) and the last of the good news I'm waiting for, came when I was in hk. Things seems to be quite positive in 2012 so far, but I know somewhere inside, is hoping for something which is out of my control.

Looking at how other people handles some situations, it's easy to say that this is certainly something you wouldn't decide on. But when it happens to you one day, it's really a different story. Sometimes i hate the irrational me, but i know, i will still follow the irrational decisions.

Because I've decided that I'm going to work hard for myself, to get things that i've wanted so badly.

No more regrets.
Finally completed my 4 free yoga lessons (yes, company welfare again.. haha).. Yoga is so tiring! Omg.. Totally not enjoyable, aching here and there after every lesson =x

Nonetheless, at least i tried it! Good exercise and stretching but it's hard to look forward to the lessons =p

HK in 1 days' time! Really looking forward to the cold weather, singapore's weather is getting more and more ridiculous. Can even sweat sitting in front of the computer with the fan on -.-

So, till then~
Penang [170212 - 190212]

Penang was unbearably hot, as hot as sg or even hotter.. Zzz.. The umbrella became my best friend over there.. Haha! But other than that, it was an enjoyable trip. The food was good, so was the suite in our hotel~

Took Tiger Airways for the first time (thankfully there was no delay).. In fact I thought it was abit better than Jetstar cos the seat can be tilted so can sleep more comfortably. Although it was only an hour to Penang.. Lol

Started our day after checking into Berjaya Hotel. Went to Komtar and Georgetown area, as we 边走边吃. Can't really rem the names of the various temples/churches/landmarks we saw.. But generally they aren't very interesting. Haha!

Fried kway tiao was better than sg's definitely, but I wouldn't say i'm in love with it. Assam laksa was also so-so.. although the rest seems to like it quite alot. I still prefer the spicy laksa in sg! But I think it shouldn't be called laksa in the first place, the two are just different story totally. Lol. Quite satisfied with the rest of the food.. quite like the rojak which was from the same place as the supposedly-very-famous chendol. But my goodness, the chendol sucks. Haha! It's salty!! why in the world would you make a salty chendol -.- I couldn't even continue eating after 3 sips. The guys liked it though.. Talk about difference in taste. LOL

We had seafood dinner near the Jetty in the evening. I thought it was not bad.. around 7 dishes and we pay roughly sgd$8 each for that, super worth it.

Went to Jalan Jelutong at night for their night market/pasar malam. It was good! They sell everything and almost anything. Haha.. The food tastes great too! But its not very hygienic of cos.. =x

Finally back in our hotel late at night. The suite was satisfactory.. Big room, big bed! And we really 太奢侈, 8 person booked 4 suites. Lol.. Actually it's possible to squeeze 4 in 1 suite with an additional bed.. hahaa

Breakfast the next morning at some random coffee shop (along Komtar area?) It's difficult to find food in the morning as the food stalls usually open late. The soup from the noodle is damn nice~

Proceeded to Penang Hill after that. Took the tram up to the top and it was really cooler up there~ Nice view and nice place to stay for awhile.

After lunch at Ayer Itam Market, we went to Kek Lok Si Temple. Have to climb quite abit of stairs to get to the temple, and after that still have to take a lift up to the top. I liked this place, although I cannot pinpoint why. Haha.. Hope my wishes come true~

Took a cab to Gurney Plaza after that. As usual, I was happy to be back to civilisation! The shopping mall is no diff from sg's ones.. Haha.. But we didn't really have enough time to shop before we had to leave for dinner again.

Had dinner at Gurney Drive, which is just beside the shopping centre. It also offers a large variety of food. So we tried all the fried kway tiao, cuttlefish with kangkong, satay, stingray, etc etc.

After all the food, we still bought supper back to hotel. Lol.. Penang trained us well after 2 days.. Every 2 hours must eat once. Haha!

And lastly, our breakfast next morning before reaching the airport. This breakfast place is very famous (according to the cab driver). It's a 5-mins drive from the airport, and he said just have to mention the famous breakfast place near the airport and ppl will know where. Haha.. I like the bread~ which have butter and condensed milk on it.. Overall i think its nice!

Then it was home sweet home after a short, tiring, hot but nice getaway with 7Cs~
Finally, I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST! Whee~
Teresa's bday celebration [100212]

Went to TGIF for dinner.. will never go back to that place again! Gosh.. Bad service, plus lousy yet expensive food! Totally not worth the price.. My beef burger was the most edible main course that night..

--

Came back from Penang with 7Cs.. Penang was quite good~ Although the heat was unbearable, the trip had been an enjoyable one. More on it in another post!
CNY 2012

Steamboat [280112]
Our yearly CNY steamboat gathering at Jean's house~ Close eyes also know what to get from Sheng Siong.. Hahaa

It was a very belated bday celebration with them this year and there's a surprise for me! The handmade gift is so pretty~ Thanks for the effort, girls!

And my bday present from them this year - Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S.. Can take polariod pictures from now on~
