HK Day 23 - 27

Can't rem when we had that pizza from Shakey's pizza again.. haha.. but that pizza has nothing except all kinds of cheese on it.. blue cheese and other cheese.. but we don't think that it's cheesy enough.. lol..

Had this freshly baked egg tarts in Causeway Bay.. It just came out of the oven and were still hot! Denny thinks that it's the best egg tarts he ever ate.. lol.. Took quite a few pics with the box.. for ade.. haha! cos she's craving for egg tarts when she was here =p

After that we went to have our steamboat..

The fish skin in the top right pic is really nice! Always saw it along the streets and thought it was gross.. din think that it will actually taste that nice.. Heh.. Bottom right is the chicken blood.. My first time eating it but i dun have a good impression of it.. Lol.. Bottom left is the shui jing char siew bao.. Something special.. and u can see what's inside in the next pic..

The soup base was fan qie yu tou tang~ Tomato-fish head.. It was quite special and sweet! The sotong and prawn balls we had were made out of the real ingredients (i.e we can see the prawn curled up in the shape of the ball!).. Yeap it was a delicious meal! Though it was damn expensive too.. The most ex meal we had in hk.. Hahaa.. Lokching left for sg the next day after having this meal with us.. Special thanks to her for bringing us around for all the good food! Her recommendations were all very good :)

Day 24.. We had 糖朝 again! This time i remembered to take photos instead of gobbling down the food right away =p

These are our fav! Always order them when we are having dim sum.. Our conclusion: The turnip cake is the BEST! We've never eaten anywhere better than this ;p

Day 25.. Oops.. we had dim sum for lunch again.. Haha! But this is at some chinese restaurant in CUHK.. it was cheaper but of cos, 糖朝 tastes better.. Lol..

See that big pot of porridge.. We regretted after ordering it.. But the guys are pro! We managed to finish almost everything.. I think they had 6 bowls each or something.. Haha!

Day 26.. We went to Big Buddha at Lantau Island! Decided not to follow the sch tour and went to take the cable car up ourselves.. There's this crystal cabin cable car which has transparent base! Cool~ But of cos it costs more.. We took it on our way there~

The weather was fine initially.. But as we got higher and higher.. It become real foggy.. Look at the pictures below to see wad i mean..

I was almost hidden by the mist liao.. Haha! But it's quite cool to take photos in such weather too.. 有仙境的感觉! =p

Things we saw along the way.. The wishing shrine, the buddha tree and erh.. some random pics.. Haha! The last pic was what we saw when we were nearing the big buddha.. omg all mist and cannot see anything! So we decided to visit the wisdom path first.. before climbing the long flight of stairs up..

It was very misty when we first reached.. But after a while.. Suddenly the fog starts to clear! So we quickly took pics..

After that, we walk very fast back to the buddha there.. Was scared that the mist will be back and we cannot see the big buddha.. Haha..

See the long flight of stairs? I was already very tired before climbing up.. And was really panting when i reached the top! 是累的咯! After we took pics with the buddha.. the mist came back.. so we decided that it was a good time to do some jumping shots! I love that photo we took =p although my long hands covered ter's mouth.. Hahaha!

This is the vegetarian lunch we had.. Only went for the cheap one and not the deluxe meal.. But it was already filling enough~ i like the beehoon most.. it's nice~

We had 王家沙 for the 3rd and last time that night.. Lol!

Day 27.. We went for the cultural tour to Yuen Lang with the school.. this tour was such a disappointment.. they brought us to some lok cok villages which has nothing to see? And the tour guides were like mumbling to themselves -.- It was such a hot day and i got sunburnt for nothing.. Grrrrrrrr...

See that bottom left pic? There's this stall which sells pork in the village like that.. oh man.. i din know there are still such places in hk..

We were looking forward to lunch cos of the lousy tour.. Look what happened to lunch..

This is called the 盆菜.. And according to the tour guide.. this is wad the emperor eats in the past.. Basically it's just one big pot with all the ingredients thrown inside.. it was a REALLY big pot.. and was supposedly for 8 pple?! We had 9 pple at our table.. And eat until we wanna puke liao.. The last picture shows what's left after an hour.. Oh man.. It's seriously not a good idea to cook stuff like this.. everything tastes the same.. we were so grossed out after the meal.. Lol!

Next place we visited was hang heung factory! The only good thing about the trip that day i supposed..

Saw them making all the cookies and stuff.. then we have free mooncakes and lao po bing to test! Fresh and hot lao po bing~ Ter was addicted to it after that piece.. Hahaha~

3 more days before we return to sg.. part of me wants to go back but part of me wants to stay here.. How?! Hahaha.. Farewell dinner is already over.. and my final exam is tml.. i have to bid goodbye to my carefree life soon...............

HK Day 14 - 21

The pictures from the third week will be mostly on GOOD FOOD.. if u are hungry now.. pls don't read this post =p

The reason why we din play outside much for the whole of week 3 is cos it was the week before exam #1.. So we stayed in on some days to do assignments and study.. And due to some h1n1 cases discovered the week before.. Cultural tours were cancelled.. Bahh.. But the h1n1 situation has stabilised now! Everyone's fine already~

Oh and bcos of that.. we had e-learning for the whole of that week.. It is not recorded lectures like NTU.. We still have to log on to the system for a live lecture at 9.30am in the morning.. (means cannot slp late -.-) But me and ter loves e-learning! i'll tell u why.. we can wake up at 9am.. can multitask at our own desk when she's lecturing.. there's no need to do in-class grp assignments and watch boring videos.. and when the lecturer says that we can take a 5-mins break.. we go right to our bed and slept.. haha! so shuang~ but that was just for 3 lessons that week.. it's back to normal lessons now already.. lol..

Went to Snoopy's World in Sha Tin outside New Town Mall.. The things there were quite cute to take pictures with.. Although the place is kinda small.. Just like an area for kids to play at..

The photo of Denny and charlie is quite funny! We asked him to do that.. hahaha..


The burger on the bottom left pic is from MOS Burger.. We all agreed that MOS Burger in sg is much better! The iced milk tea doesn't taste as nice and they have no chilli sauce unlike mac! :(

Day 17.. Lokching brought us to this restaurant at Olympics.. And the top right pic shows my most satisfied food from there.. Smoked salmon caesar salad pizza! Niceeee =p Caught Harry Potter in Elements at Kowloon after that.. Such a disappointment! Personally, i felt that the movie was lousy.. I was trying to keep myself awake throughout! The jokes were not funny.. the plot was kinda boring.. and there was no climax.. -.- Maybe its cos i nv read the book..?

Muahaha.. The pic above are dishes from 王家沙.. And we really love 王家沙! So much that we ate it for 3 times up to date already =x These pics were from the first time.. The xiao long baos there were really really nice! Try it to understand what i mean! The soup inside can fill a whole spoon.. *slurps* =D And in case anyone is coming to try it.. Try the branch in Kowloon instead of the one in Kowloon Tang.. It's nicer~ This shows how much we yan jiu about it huh.. Hahaha~

We bumped into 蔡少芬 at the shopping centre too! According to lokching, that shopping centre has all the branded goods and has less pple.. hence the actors/actresses always go there to shop! Haha.. But we only saw her backview -.- denny was the only one who saw her face! Shan't repeat my story on that again.. Me and ter chased after her but she had long legs and walked way too fast for us.. Hahaha!

Day 18.. I don't really like Shakey's Pizza.. i think that pizza hut is much better! It's cheaper and nicer.. Haha.. and the pizza was so hard to cut that my hands ache after the meal.. LOL!

Day 20.. We finally had our Yong Ji Restaurant at Central.. it's a well-known restaurant which has long queue.. and it's very expensive! Lol..

Ta-da~ Our long-awaited roasted pigeon! Hmmm.. it was quite nice la.. although pigeon has a weird taste on its own.. but with the salt it's still quite nice.. i think the meat is abit like that of a duck's.. but tastes different.. Had roasted goose too..

After the meal, we hopped over to Tsui Wah Restaurant opposite Yong Ji.. we were all not that full cos we don't dare to order too much as it's ex! Lol~ Had 猪仔包.. And we suddenly realised that the legendary 猪仔包 has no 猪 inside one! -.- Hahaha! That's the one on the top left pic.. It's bread with condensed milk and butter.. I like the taste of condensed milk! The one on the right is 猪扒包.. Our 3rd type of 猪扒包.. And this was the best out of all!

Last 2 pictures were from our 2nd 王家沙 meal.. Chao nian gaos and xiao long baos are a MUST everytime we eat there :))

HK Day 10 - 13

Met up with Gina when she arrived at hk before going back to sg~ Time was quite tight for the both of us hence we only have chance to meet up for a dinner.. And we ate at the food republic at harbourcity.. Lol.. But we ate the korean chao nian gao! It was quite good and spicy.. Heh..

Mong Kok is our fav place.. So we decided that we should take a picture with it.. Haha!

Day 11.. Finally we met up with the rest of the uni peeps who came to hk for a holiday~ We went to Madame Tussauds, the wax museum.. And took lots of pics.. We really took alot of pics when they were around.. with frank's DSLR.. hence we have really nice pics! There are simply too many to post up here.. (i nearly fainted filtering them.. LOL) other nice ones are on facebook =)

The woman is taller than me by more than a head lar.. Lol.. And that doesn't really look like Jay.. from photos is more alike than the real wax figure.. Gu Ju Ji looks good though!

Jov's photo with that korean guy is blur cos i was laughing and shaking.. Haha! The effect doesn't turn out to be that nice but it was really funny to see her nua on him =X

Muahaha.. Finally hugged Andy Lau.. I waited for this chance damn long liao.. Haha! They say i should take 20 photos with him but i ran out of poses.. Only have 4 or 5.. Lol~

And there was this haunted house in the wax museum.. And the top right picture shows us watching the short clip about it.. Wanted to go in at first.. But we kinda freaked out after watching that clip.. Lol! So in the end all of us nv go in..

After the wax museum we stayed to look at the night scenery at the peak.. My 3rd time there liao.. But it was the first time i stayed till late to watch the night scenery though.. The night scenery is soooo much better than it is in the morning.. don't bother going up the peak before dark.. there's totally nothing to see.. haha! But i din know we need to pay to go up to the viewing gallery now.. i rem 3 years ago we were up and its free?

We were lucky it wasn't foggy that night! Much better than the previous week.. And with the DSLR.. the pictures turned out really pretty!

Went to this italian restaurant at Mong Kok for dinner.. Recommended by lokching and it's good! I don't know about the rest but the beef italian rice in the top right pic is really good!! The taste lingered in my mouth even one week after the meal.. Lol.. But for your information.. I din order that.. Haha! lokching can't finish it so i tasted the rice and beef.. I really love how the beef tasted! Ok that's a long paragraph on the rice.. Haha! Anyway the bottom left pic was wad i order.. Soft shell crab pasta.. Was nice too but abit salty..

Celebrated jov's and ade's bday with a little cake for each of them too.. I know it was a super early celebration but we can't get back in time to celebrate it on the exact days =p Hope u two like the presents and cake!

Day 12.. Ocean park day! Had mac breakfast before meeting them.. Mac breakfast here is cheap and nice! The patty is made from pork instead of chicken.. And the scrambled eggs tastes much better..

Those guys dressed like that and hiding in the caves gave me a fright quite a number of times that day.. Lol!
The dinosaur cave we first went into was quite good.. The dinosaurs can move and roarrrr! It actually seems quite real.. Their eyes can even blink!

While 4 of us are on the ferris wheel.. The other 4 are on the 360degrees roller coaster ride.. That two rides are just beside each other.. And when we are all on the rides, we saw each other and waved! Haha! Quite amusing.. zhihao was super calm and waving happily on the roller coaster -.- His expression doesn't say that he's on a roller coaster definitely.. Lol..

This is quite like the underwater world in sg.. Even the species look about the same.. Haha! But i'm disappointed with the touch pond.. They only have starfish here.. even sg has stingrays!

Took a cable car to the other island.. For the rest of the attractions.. The free cable car ride was amazingly long.. Lol.. There is this ice age exhibition/attraction over there.. The things inside are very cute! Those guys are in there again.. And they keep wanting to come into the picture.. when my original intention wasn't to include them.. I wanted to take the animals!

Lastly, we went to the panda place.. There are also many other cute things to take picture with along the way~

Ocean Park was amazingly HOT that day.. I was totally burnt! Thanks to teresa.. who rem about sunblock but forgot tell me to apply cos she wants to get darker and don't intend to apply -.- Haha..

All in all.. Ocean Park was actually much better than what i expected.. Although i'm not into rides, those stuff there are nice to see too! It's really quite big and they are still expanding.. May want to visit again after some years.. :) Oh.. But the admission fee is increasing in a few weeks' time.. If any of u intends to visit.. Come asap.. Lol!

Day 13.. Dim Sum Day!! I cannot believe this is the first time i ate dim sum ever since i arrived.. Dunno what are we busy about to skip that! Lol.. Ate at "糖朝" in Tsim Sha Tsui and i think it's good~ The siew mai and xia jiao is damn niceeeeeeeee~ Heh..

Walked around after dim sum.. And ate 臭豆腐 at Mong Kok.. My first time eating it and i thought it was quite disappointing.. The smell is bearable la.. But it doesn't tastes nice.. I think it's the chilli that makes it 臭.. The 豆腐 alone doesn't have much taste i think..

The rest of the uni pple left sg that night.. After we bid goodbye to them we went to eat KFC.. Haha.. the KFC here is just different from sg's.. they even have rice to go with the chicken..

There was Strong Wind Signal No.3 that afternoon.. Thus we went back to hostel early cos we're not sure how big the wind and rain would be.. Haha! The dark clouds greeted us.. But in the end.. Well, i think the wind and rain was harmless la.. It din even rain alot that day.. Just for a while.. Heh~

HK Day 4 - 6

Had our first lesson on thursday.. Just an intro lesson.. But we have lots of assignments to complete and textbook to read.. Omg :(

Went to the gym after class.. yes gym! Haha! forgot to bring my camera along.. thus no photos.. Heh~

Pizza Hut @ New Town Mall for dinner! I rem the stuff crust pizza we had in hk 3 years ago! And i'm back to eat it again.. Lol~ So nice! Pizza hut in hk is nicer than sg's one.. the garlic bread also tastes better!

On our way back to hostel that night.. we somehow entered the first class cabin of the mtr train without knowing it! Blur us 搞不清楚状况 and went out of it.. Shucks.. should have sat down.. Haha!

Friday we went Causeway Bay.. Ate at a chinese noodles place.. we din know we actually can find very spicy food in hk! Hahaha! Their noodles come in 大辣, 中辣, 小辣.. And with us craving for chilli.. me and ter ordered the 中辣 one and realised the power of it! It's really very spicy.. Lol.. After a while already 麻 liao.. but it feels really shuang after that meal~ Hahaa..

Went to Times Square but as expected, there's nothing affordable there.. Lol.. Ate some 小吃 there too.. Then we went to UA Cinema to watch Ice Age 3! And we caught the 3D one =D The movie is really nice.. much better than the 2nd one.. Its hilarious.. Go watch it if you haven't! I'm quite sure you won't regret =p

Look at the popcorn signboard.. It reads 'Chocolate Popcorn'! Lol.. But to me.. it just tastes like the normal popcorn.. but it's like brown in colour.. Bottom left is Denny's legendary 猪扒包.. That's our first 猪扒包.. there's more pics to come.. Haha! And that zhu chang fen isn't nice.. i will look for nicer ones!

Sat was the tour arranged by CUHK.. First we went to Avenue Of Stars~

But after we took some pics.. it started pouring -.- So we had no choice but to seek shelter in Pacific Coffee..

Next, we went to Repulse Bay.. Never visited this place before.. And its really useful to have the tour guide with us there.. He explained the meaning of those statues there.. At the bottom left is the 长寿桥.. People believed that their lives will be lengthened by 3 years after walking on it.. But u cannot walk the same way down.. The effect will be reversed.. And the pic on the bottom right is the fish (i don't know what's the real name for it).. People thinks that if u make a wish and throw a coin into its mouth.. the wish will come true~ But there's only 3 chances to throw the coin in.. Then of cos i tried.. But i couldn't get the coin in after throwing for N times.. Haa! They say my wish must be too hard to fulfil =x

Top left is the God of Fortune.. And there's a procedure for praying.. Must touch the head first.. then touch the face.. then touch the hands.. And put ur hands in the pocket (meaning to keep the money!).. The finally touch the 元宝 beside it.. Heh~

3rd place we went is Stanley Market.. Took a look around but there's nothing much.. Bought biscuits from Jenny Bakery though.. introduced by geraldine.. i hope i got the right place.. Lol.. The biscuits are nice but it's expensive.. no matter how nice they are.. they are still biscuits to me.. Haha!

Our last place to visit that day.. Victoria Peak.. But it was quite foggy that day.. View on top wasn't as nice.. Or maybe we already have the good view from our hostel.. we thought that it was nothing spectacular.. Haha..

Macau! (Day 7 and 8)

Decided to go to Macau this weekend cos we predict that we will be damn busy every weekend after this.. Took a one-hour ferry over.. I was sound asleep on the way there and back.. The movement of the ferry is sleep-inducing.. Lol! Ter wouldn't agree with me on that.. Hahaa~

Ta-da~ There is see 猪扒包 again! Lol~ This one looks nicer but doesn't taste as nice as the one in Wan Chai.. Next we have the 吨奶 (not sure whether i got the chinese words right.. haha).. I think pple who likes to drink milk will like it.. personally i think it's quite nice!

It was a wrong day to be at Macau.. The weather was cranky.. Lol.. It can rain for 5 mins and stop for 10 mins.. den rain again.. Zzz.. When we were in the open.. It started raining real heavily.. until we are all drenched -.- After that we took a cab to the Venetian.. Not before we witness the cab-snatching scenes.. Now we know the trick..

And that's the Venetian~ Beautiful place.. But there's nothing much you can do inside.. Except casino maybe.. No we din try the casino.. Not bcos we don't want to.. But bcos the minimum bets are too big! We are just a few poor souls.. Still gotta save the money for the remaining 1 month in hk.. Lol!

Had Mcdonalds for dinner bcos i think that's the cheapest food in Venetian.. Lol.. Discovered that the 'sky' inside the building actually turns darker as night falls.. Quite cool.. And it's very pretty with the lighting :) Know wad's in that bottom right pic? Those coins are in the water.. -.- Can't believe pple treat everywhere with water as wishing well.. Hahaha! That was ALOT of coins inside!

Now back in hk.. Having boring lessons.. Trying to save some money cos we seemed to have spent too much last week having fun.. Haha! But there's the wax museum and ocean park coming up next! Stay tune =p

HK Day 1 - 3

Hello hello~ I finally found some time to blog! Lol.. We 充分利用时间 ever since we reached.. out early in the morning and come back late everyday.. Busy busy~ =p There's so many things to blog about~ Hopefully i still rem them.. Lol..

Reached hk airport at around 1030 on monday.. Took the bus to our hostel in CUHK.. CUHK is located on a mountain.. And the hall we are staying in.. Is located at the TOP of the mountain! omg.. just to show how high we are staying.. the picture below shows the view from our hostel~ Cool huh.. I will look at the mountains for 38 days.. Haha! The hostel somewhat looks like the ntu one.. just that this is abit smaller.. And oh.. we live on the 6th storey.. highest storey of the whole building too.. Lol!

Went for a short talk and the CUHK pple brought us on a tour around the school.. And that was seriously VERY tiring! CUHK has much more slopes and stairs than ntu and they are much much steeper! Its really quite crazy.. even the guys are complaining.. Hahah~

That's the various places around the school.. We are surrounded by mountains and rocky areas! As u can see from the bottom 2 pics.. we either have to take the stairs or the slopes everyday to get in and out of hall.. There isn't much of a choice huh.. Lol~ And oh! The hall has free air-con though!

We went to the New Town Mall shopping complex @ Shatin in the evening.. it's HUGE! The size like equivalent to 3 shopping centres in sg.. Haha.. Dinner at some restaurant and its nice~

Started our 2nd day by going for some orientation talk.. After which we went Mong Kok for some shopping as we have a few hours before the welcoming dinner.. The 2 photos below is taken at some spot near our hostel too.. The view so nice hor!

Fried udon for lunch.. Apparently its very common in hk.. But its hard to find in sg! Haha.. 旺角中心 sells the cheapest items in hk i think! Haha.. Me and teresa can't wait to get back there again cos we din have enough time to finish combing that building.. Lol..

Then at night we had a 11-course dinner at some chinese restaurant for the welcome meal.. Its nice but 11-course is seriously abit too much.. Lol~ There's also this super hilarious incident about the lucky winners for the night.. I was actually one of them but i din know! Until the announcements are long over.. Haha!

Day 3 is a public hol~ 1st of July is a day which the hk pple have demonstration at hk island.. i'm not really sure why but since it's public hol it means that we have no lessons and can play! LOL! So that day we walked alot alot! Started walking from East Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsim Sha Tsui then to Jordan~

Had the roasted goose, shao rou, cha shao and stuff at some eatery.. The shao rou sold everywhere in hk is always nice! Although abit too salty at times.. The last picture is taken to show how big the gap is between the mtr train and the platform.. The biggest gap we saw is that big leh! The first day all of us got a shock while alighting the train! We have to take a big step to get onto the platform.. Haha~

Then we went to the space museum since its free admission on weds.. Haha! Well, nothing much to see there.. just like some exhibition.. But we queued up damn long for this thing to play.. as seen from the last pic (if u can see in the darkness) Haha! That's actually me being tied to some rope den try to walk on the ground to experience how you will feel if u are walking on the moon.. I think my legs are too short.. i was struggling to tiptoe on the ground to move myself forward! omg.. hahaha..

许留山 mango desserts in the afternoon.. I think i ordered the wrong stuff.. i dun like the black glutinous thingy inside.. shall order a full of mango one in future! That's curry chicken at 大家乐 for dinner.. The thing i miss most in hk is chilli! Me and ter are constantly craving for spicy stuff over here.. Hahah.. Maybe we should find some ma la steamboat to eat in days to come!
