Shanghai - Day 3 [140611]

Ever since Day 3, I think we are only awake everyday for brunch.. Not any earlier =x

After our cheap Jap brunch which was so-so.. We went to Yuyuan Garden & Bazaar.. it's quite a big place for souvenir shopping. And we had xiao long baos for the first time! Very cheap.. 16 xlbs for around sgd$2.. But this wasn't very nice cos it's like mass produced.

Then we went to Shanghai old street.. which was rather near.. We kept walking and ended up there without even knowing it! But we found nothing interesting along that 2 streets..

So we proceeded to Xin Tian Di, which is their high end shopping area. Even the price of watching a movie there is madness.. It cost around sgd$15 after a 50% discount on weekdays! So we gave up on the idea and went to chill at starbucks.. Lol. Found a cheap KTV place near our hotel using my iphone~ So we spent our night ktv-ing after walking for the whole day!

Day 4 [150611]

Shopped at 七浦路市场.. which is the place they sell cheap wholesale clothes. The whole streets consist of shopping centres which is very big and has alot of shops and stores! It's really crazy.. Hahaa. But its such a chore to buy something bcos they will jack up the prices like nobody's business and the thought of negotiating with them turns me off totally. Grrrr.. They are not even close to friendly. So I gave up on the idea and rather not buy. Haha

After that, we went to Nanjing Road at People's Square Station.. Found the famous 生煎包 at Huanghe Road.. They are really gooooood! There's so much soup inside that it will just be really messy when you bite into it. We got a good laugh at each other when eating it outside the shop! Luckily i was the last one to try it.. Hence, learnt from their experience already.. Lol!

Went to the music street in the evening before settling down for desserts instead of dinner bcos we were still full. Found this fake 许留山 which is called 糖朝! Surprisingly, it tastes really similar.. Except for a little difference in the taste of the mango!

Then, our last activity for our last night in Shanghai - Sunshine Bar @ Captain's Hostel. Doing our fav activity in Tioman.. Hahha.. This seems to be the cheapest bar which overlooks the bund area as from my research online. But the sad thing was it rained so heavily that night and we couldn't really enjoy the view from the bar.

Got the birthday boy a chocolate cake before 12 midnight~ And we had to brave the heavy rain back to our hotel (which is 4 streets away) after that =p

Day 5 [160611]

Thought we could visit the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum in 2 hours and do our last minute shopping that day.. But the museum was much nicer and bigger than we thought! It was certainly a pleasant surprise.. I didn't think that it would be that good. In the end, we spent too much time inside the museum that we had to forgo the last minute shopping.. Haha. Luckily we decided to add in this into our itinerary at the last min!

There were many different exhibits around. Personally, I really love the animal world! The life-size elephants, giraffes and other animals were so cool! The whole place was made to look like you are in a real jungle.. China really has too much land to spare.. Hahaa.

The robots exhibits have robots which draws portraits and play piano.. And the space one has rockets and such.. Some of the games are quite interesting too!

And this is the one on body parts.. The cute 3D ride has a car which brings us into the mouth of the 'human' and we will travel to the stomach, intestine, etc. Supposed to be educational and its cute~ Some of the other exhibits looks like the one in our science centre..

Went to Huanghe street again after that to have nice xiao long baos before we leave the country.. 24 xlbs for the 3 of us! Abit overdose.. hahaha.. But they only offer in 12s.. So we have to buy 24 in order to try 2 flavours - the normal one and the one with egg yolk! Both tastes super niceeeeeeee! And damn cheap too.. sgd$6 for all 24! After that we went back to da bao the 生煎包 again.. Couldn't resist =x

Then it was back to collect our luggages and a mad rush for the high speed rail, thanks to the stupid MRT. The 2mins difference in time saved us.. I couldn't believe we survived that run and got onto the train =x Was so hungry and tired after everything that we ate up the 生煎包 at Hangzhou airport.. Which once again, does not have any shops open cos we were there at 10pm+! Zzz.. And so we came back safely to sg..

I think I wouldn't be going back to the country anytime soon.. Hahaha.
Hangzhou - Day 1 [120611]

This shall be considered Day 1 since we reached Hangzhou airport at 11.30pm. Haha.. No dinner/supper for us bcos shops are not 24hours open at the lousy airport -.- Every single shop is closed! There was nothing there except many irritating taxi drivers asking to fetch you to your location at a certain cost.

Got to Victoria Regal Hotel Zhejiang and met up with jason. Our hotel room got upgraded from the 'economy no window' room to one with a small balcony! Generally, everything about the 4-star hotel was good except that the aircon feels like heater.. Lol.. Didn't really slp the whole night!

Day 2 [130611]

Explored the tourist shopping areas after breakfast. Nice buildings but nothing to buy at all bcos there were only overpriced cheongsams and tea leaves? Lol. And we found out that there's basically nothing in Hangzhou except Xi Hu. Hahaa..

Took a bus over to Leifeng Tower after checking out of the hotel. There were escalators and lifts which leads us to the top of the tower, thankfully! It would be a killer to climb up there.. Haha! I guess Xi Hu will only look magnificent during sunset.. But time doesn't allow us to stay till sunset =(

Then we went near Xi Hu, took a few pictures and left for Shanghai by their high speed rail!

Checked into Manhattan Business Hotel at night. Booked this hotel bcos I love the picture of the room I saw online.. But they offered to give us a bigger room when we reached.. So in the end took this room which was rather cosy as well.

Everything was good except the little hiccup with the toilet. LOL. The toilet door is made of glass and it has a translucent red curtain over it.. Meaning........... everything you do in the toilet can be seen rather clearly by anyone outside. Hahaha! Look at the bottom pic. Of cos there's the additional curtain when bathing.. But that's only area we can stand in without being seen =x

Went to the Bund at night to take very nice pics of the buildings! We were really lucky bcos it rained almost every single day when we were there except that night. So we were able to get pretty pics with the dslr! It was around 20 degrees or so everyday.. When we thought it would be very warm at that period of the year. So thankful for the wonderful weather~
Bye samsung~ Hello to my white iphone! =D

Bye old fujitsu.. Hello new pink fujitsu! Hehe~

And BYE SINGAPORE! Hellooooo Hangzhou and Shanghai!!

And i'm feeling soooo poor now! =x
Caught Kungfu Panda 2 last week.. It was not bad.. But somehow not as good as the very hilarious part 1.. Felt that the story was way too simple. Well, expectations.......... It's always hard to be better than something which is already quite perfect.
