Free Museum Visits [210811]

Because we thought that we shouldn't waste the chance since there are free entries for 7 museums in the month of August due to National Day.. Haha!

First stop: National Museum of Singapore

4 main exhibits.. But we spent a long time inside bcos there are quite a number of things to see and watch.. Mainly on sg's history and culture..

2nd stop: Singapore Art Museum

This, is really a waste of time and money (luckily money was not involved)! There weren't much exhibits around.. But the zhong dian is, the 'arts' are kinda crap to me.. Maybe i got the definition wrong but those things we saw are certainly not what i expected.. Lol. Yeah so we spent a little while cam-whoring with whatever interesting things we can find and then left, that took us probably around 30 mins. Haha

I think the best exhibit around would be the special exhibit which showcase the oil paintings of this painter. I always admire pple who can draw/paint well.. Sigh.. 谁叫自己没天分!

Many things happened at work in recent months.. One phrase to summarise it all - 日久见人心. People who once look friendly on the surface doesn't mean he's not stabbing u from the back. And people who seems unfriendly doesn't mean they are not nice to you either. I've learnt...

Some time ago i was super mad at someone.. I can't even rem when was the last time i was so mad. And he did it.. Well done. But this also made me realise.. I'm not someone you can meddle with. If you bite me, I promise to bite you back. Somehow, I'm quite proud of that.. My ability to protect myself.. Haha! And recently I also realise that I can do and say anything when i'm not happy.. Hmmm..

I suddenly rem the reason why i chose engineering, or part of the reason anyway. I seriously will prefer working with machines & graphs & excel sheets & results than people. Those things are complicated but at least they don't show u a smiling face but feels otherwise underneath. Those lifeless things are complicated yet simple in their own way. At least they don't have feelings and won't affect my feelings!

No reason for this particular random post, neither am i too bothered about things at work. Just felt like blogging about this at this moment. But i guess its part and parcel of life to meet difficult situations at work. I try to convince myself that as long as it doesn't kill me and I still get paid, nothing's too bad =x It's just work right? Just change job if not happy! 看开一点啦~

Caught 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'.. It's goooooood! Like really good! Go watch it if you haven't! But I wouldn't say that the apes are cute animals.. In fact they looked even more scary now after i watched the movie =x

刚开始觉得这张专辑没怎么样，但真是越听越好听！她下次来开演唱会，我要去！！

Just saw this pic on a friend's blog.. HOW TRUE IS THIS?

I'm sad to say, it's seems to be true to a certain extent.. Is this supposed to be a happy or sad thing?

I'm so glad tml is a public holiday!

Met up with pri sch form teacher and gang last night at Harry's Bar at Chijmes.. For a catch-up over dinner.. I treasure such meet-ups.. Its like a once in 2-10 years affair.. Although we weren't especially close to her.. But talking about the past makes one feels heartwarming. And it's good to know that she's doing well.. I guess its unavoidable that topics drift to marriage and stuff these days.. Sigh.. Makes one feels damn old! And talking about school days like they were just yesterday.. But in fact they were 12 years ago =..( Sometimes i really wish one can travel back in time.. Pri sch was indeed a wonderful period of my life.. Where i met trustworthy friends for life =)

On a sidenote, i really quite like Harry's Bar.. Food's good.. atmosphere's good.. And i just couldn't resist ordering Erdinger everytime i visit some bar these days.. I've kind of grown to like beer.. Haha.. It's a good place to relax and have a good chat with friends!

Magic Tricks Workshop! [040811]

One of the best workshops to date! Haha.. We were taught by this professional magician, Kyle Ravin.. And he's a singaporean! Admire his courage to come this far bcos of his love for magic. Like all magicians, he's a good entertainer..

The items we learnt:

1. Making 3 balls pass through solid cups and appear under them

2. Making red sponge balls vanish or multiply and appear somewhere else

3. Making matches vanish mysteriously

4. Cutting a rope into 2 and making it appear as 1 again

5. Mind reading

6. Locating a selected card from a deck without looking at it

7. Turning paper into money!

These are just really simple tricks to him.. But it definitely requires alot of practice and coordination to do it well! I have no courage of performing in front of anyone yet.. Hahaha

The repetitive practicing really makes me admire magicians.. You must repeat something so long and so hard to make it perfect to your audience.. Although it was only a short 2 hours workshop.. But the practicing part is enough to make me give up very soon i guess.. You try so hard to 'make the magic' to the point that you can't deceive yourself it's magic anymore.. I prefer to be the one to watch someone perform and believe that IT IS MAGIC. Lol.

It's just like i prefer to believe in fairytale rather than being the one who writes the story and knows that the story is not real.. yeah maybe i just prefer to live in illusions.. haha

Nonetheless, it was a great workshop!
